Figure skating is the discipline most commonly known around the world. You can compete individually or in pairs.

You can compete in Kiwiskate figure skating grades without being TC registered. This is mainly for beginner skaters.

Once a skater becomes more serious, this is when they will need to be TC registered to compete in the first level of club competition. Moving up in grades requires skaters to pass tests/exams where they are required to perform specific moves, footwork and elements.

 

The grades are as follows:
